Lenawee United Way is making final plans for our Annual Meeting to be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, 11:30 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at The Centre. The Annual Meeting is a time for celebrating last year’s fundraising campaign, recognizing the 2012-13 class of Emerging Leaders, approving the nomination of new board members, and honoring our 2013 Stubnitz Recipients and 2013 Young Leader Incito Award Recipient.

Emerging Leaders, a program of Lenawee United Way, is accepting applications for the 2013-14 year.  Emerging Leaders is an eight month leadership development program for young professionals age 22-35.  The mission of Emerging Leaders is to develop leadership skills that can be employed in the workplace as well as in the community.  Participants will learn from community leaders and local experts, providing an opportunity for networking and socialization.

Lenawee United Way continues to work toward our three very bold goals for Lenawee County:

Education:  To cut the number of high school dropouts in half.
Income:  To cut in half the number of lower-income families who are financially unstable.
Health:  Increase by one third the number of youth and adults who are healthy and avoid risky behaviors.
 
Reaching these goals involves a complex process that includes many partners...
